Peace Dove (1972) by Ramon Lago is located in City Park, in Reading, PA. It was originally constructed of stucco over a ferrous metal armature and mesh, and sat on a low base of field stones around a concrete core. It was in poor condition due to a combination of lack of durability of its original construction materials, and accessibility to the public.

Kreilick Conservation, LLC proposed replicating the sculpture in more durable cast stone. The piece was removed to Kreilick’s conservation studio, and repaired so that it could be used as a model for casting. The form was reconstructed using metal mesh, expanding foam, and plaster. The repaired Dove was then delivered to the cast stone facility to be replicated. Once the cast stone replica was created, it was installed in the sculpture’s original location and orientation. The base was also cleaned and stabilized.
